BraveArt 13 CANCELLED
Regularly exhibiting our paintings is a priority for our club. We encourage all members to get involved. This year we are fortunate to be exhibiting at Gather in the centre of Poole. We have regularly held an annual exhibition at The Gallery Upstairs, Upton Park although we will not be doing so this year we hope to be there in 2023. In 2019 we also exhibited at Bournemouth Library and the Community Learning and Resource Centre in Wimborne.
Our 2020 BraveArt13 exhibition was cancelled at The Gallery Upstairs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is available as a “virtual” version via the link below. Please follow the link and let us know what you think.
Member Exhibitions
To encourage our members confidence in their own work, we hold a number of “member” exhibitions throughout the year. These are voluntary to take part, and allow one member to exhibit their own work and receive feedback from other members in the group during our Monday evening meeting at Upton Community Centre. We hope to establish these as regular events in our diary.
Pop-Up Exhibitions
We have been experimenting with locations, venues and “pop-up” exhibitions in and around Dorset to show our work.
In June 2020 we planned to exhibit in the laundry at KINGSTON LACY, Wimborne and were invited to Kingston Lacey during the Summer months for “en plein-air” painting sessions. Although these events were cancelled due to coronavirus, we hope to continue this association with the National Trust in coming years.
Community Events
We also support various local events like Upton in Bloom, Poole Grammar School’s Summer Fete and the Poole Carnival by exhibiting work. We are keen to find opportunities to participate and display our artwork in public venues.
In 2019 members entered work in the “Upton in Bloom” art competition and will be doing so again this year.
In September 2019 members joined other local art groups at Knoll Gardens, Stapehill to paint and draw in the gardens for a day. We visited Knoll Gardens again this year on 24th June.
